Our 1984 109 V8 was originally owned by the NZ Justice Department. She's been around the clock a couple of times, but
still going strong. Since purchasing her, I have had to complete the following maintenance:
1. Machine the heads and replace the head gaskets 2. Replace the water pump 3. Replace the radiator 4. Refurbish the LPG unit
5. Replace all the leaf the springs 6. Replace the clutch 7. Rebuild the gearbox 8. Other than that, she has been a good reliable vehicle!
We only really use the 109 for beach access then fishing, and for camping. To provide the creature comfits while we are away, I have fitted a 12/24 volt fridge, gas
hot water system, and a double bed that can be removed or installed in under 3 minutes. |
