HighRange'86 EFI Range Rover

My Range Rover

The Range Rover is my main off road truck.  It is becoming more and more modified as time goes on, and is now a stark contrast of its former self!

Its a New Zealand new 1986 EFI Vogue, done 140,000 miles, and is an absolute pleasure to drive, especially off road.

Modifications:

  • 31x10.5 Hankook RT01 Dynamic Mud Terrains fitted to 15x7 white spoke wheels.
  • ARB rear locker.
  • PolyAir air springs.
  • Stainless braided brake lines.
  • Koni shock absorbers.
  • Custom built front bull bar incorporating Warn 9000i winch and steering arm protector.
  • Custom rear bull bar and fuel tank protection.
    Custom swing-a-way wheel carrier.
  • Custom side bars with full length rock sliders.
  • Stainless steel snorkel.
  • Uniden Grant CB with Pacific Aerials 1/4 wave aerial.
  • Hella Rallyeye 2000 spot lights.
  • 100mm suspension lift.

The suspension lift is achieved utilising:
  • 40mm lift King springs
  • 60mm lift blocks
  • reset front radius arms
  • repositioned rear shock mounts
  • lengthened brake lines
  • modified front drive shaft incorporating a double knuckle CV joint on the gearbox end
  • removal of the self levelling unit

My Wish List:

  • Long travel shock absorbers (the design has already been done).
  • Full length roof rack complete with night safari side and rear lighting.
  • Revised rear storage unit to incorporate my 12v fridge and sliding drawers.
  • Chassis mounted stainless steel water storage tanks for camping.
  • Second battery (not sure where I will fit it).
  • Sealed protection for the EFI unit under the drivers seat.
