Gadgets Dashwork- moved the radio to the roof console, added a rev counter in the dash in place of the voltmeter and then filled the radio hole with all the switches for winch, rear locker, compressor, front locker, second fuel tank pump, second fuel tank gauge and the old voltmeter from the dash. CD player - you need a better stereo to hear above the noise! An Alpine head unit with 2 Blaupunkt box rear speakers, some ex-Disco fronts, an Monster iCruze iPod controller and a removable bazooka subwoofer seem to do the trick
Alpine alarm - After the third theft from the landy I splashed out on a decent alarm. Should have done it sooner. The installation was a pain, as LandRovers of this vintage don't have door light switches. Handheld spotlight - Hella 12v. Why don't they make handheld floodlights? Fluorescent light - 12v. An ARB one - it's great. Use it for camping, changing wheels in the dark, all that stuff. Just roll it up in its own wire to protect it, and stick it between the seat and the cubby box. 12v plug by rear door - handy for the fridge and the light Tyre pressure gauge - a good gauge is invaluable. I have two - a handheld for airing down and one as part of the compressor hose that pumps them back up. Tyre deflators - make airing down easy 12v kettle - anyone for a nice cup of tea? 12v fridge - or a beer? |
