President's Notes (July 2001)
by Scott Hatch
I would first like to congratulate Norman Wnuk for stepping forward and filling the vacancy on the BOD. I feel that Norman will do a great job on the BOD and become a great asset to the club. Volunteerism is the lifeblood of this club, where would we be without it? It takes more than a few members of the BOD to make a difference! When the White Mountain National Forest Service tries to brush aside our sport it takes more than a couple of club presidents going to a meeting. It takes the membership to come out in force! The Association can become a force in New Hampshire as well as the rest of New England but it needs the help of the membership. I strongly encourage the membership to volunteer for the projects that will give us the creditability and political presence to gain recognition in the local and state governments.
Club T-shirts: Denise Mulverhill has received the new club t-shirts that will be on sale at the July 14th clean up and the Beacon run on the 21st. The t-shirts will be $10 and the new sweatshirts will be $20.
Old Florida Rd Clean Up: I would like to thank the retired past President Bill Barnes and Carl Merrick for the diligence of coordinating with the towns to do this clean up. More information will be in the newsletter.
New Hampshire Status: The status in NH is still the same. NH fish and game are patrolling for unauthorized wheeling. You may not be caught the first time, but you WILL be caught eventually!
