President's Notes (March 2001)

by Scott Hatch

We will be having our club kick-off party March 18th Sunday afternoon from 12 to 4:30 at the Concord Elks club. This is the same place we held it last year except it will be New England 4 Wheelers and guests only. We are having a little raffle and the main prize is a winch accessories kit from Elias 4X4 center. We also rented a big screen TV to watch videos on so bring some good trail action videos. Finally, don't forget to bring a main dish if your last name starts from A-M and a dessert from N-Z.

I also want to say a big thanks to Rick Boiros! He set up the club on the Topica mailing list and made communication between all the members really easy. If you haven't been put onto the list and you have email contact Rick Boiros at: Rboiros@yahoo.com.

We are also preparing for a trip down to Hazleton, PA to go for a trail ride at Paragon. Although it is a little pricey the club is going to pick up the tab for the mandatory trail guides. We are planning on running 2 full days, Saturday and Sunday, with a limit of 30 vehicles. Anyone that goes will HAVE to sign a waiver form, driver as well as any passengers. The cost will be $35 for a driver and $5 for a passenger. I have the waiver forms below, sign them and mail them with the total amount to Norman Wnuk; his address will be supplied below. Don't worry, it's not as far as you might think!

The last thing I would like to mention is a very important meeting this month. On March 22nd there is a meeting about the White Mountain National Forest. This meeting is specifically about motorized use in the Forest. Although the OHV cmmunity started out strong we lost a lot of steam and now the Anti-Motorized crowd is overwhelming everything that we had gained in the beginning. We as a club and as a sport NEED to make a large showing. The meeting is at the Chelmsford Radisson. Take 495 to Exit 34. Take a right off the ramp and the Radisson is immediately on your right from the north. Take a left off of the ramp and the Radisoon is immediately on your right coming from the south. Drive to the back of the building and look for the conference room entrance....The meeting is from 7PM to 9PM.
