`68 Kaiser Jeepster

Project No-Bucks

Introduction:  Project No-Bucks began in October of `92 in Lamar, Colorado after I swapped Doc Coberly my `85 Dodge Diplomat for this piece of junk Jeepster pickup and $200.  I had driven past the Jeepster every day since I had moved there in June and I had fallen in love with it.

The Jeepster sat for five years as I tried to "cheap trick" it into a trail worthy machine.  A body swap came in the form of  a donated `72 Commando from which I took the tub, roll cage, and axles.  Unfortunately for me, someone else had beaten me to the hulk and raided the Dana 44 from the rear, leaving me with a mismatched AMC 20 rear axle with two piece shafts and a limited slip.

The move to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan found the Jeepster on a trailer behind the Ryder truck.  It most recently resided behind my garage.  Until June 14, 1999, when everything changed.
