Brian Stephens Meets with Chris Medlicott in Dunedin, New Zealand.

On 11th July 1998 I was fortunate enough to be able to spend a day in the deep south of New Zealand with Chris Medlicott.
Chris is the Co-Ordinator for the IFSJA in NZ. After an Express trip down to Dunedin ( Chris,s home town ) from Christchurch in a rented Japanese Buzz box it was great to climb into a FSJ again for some 4 wheeling , followed by a tour of the city and all the local sites.

The  4 wheel drive club Chris belongs to owns a very large block of land which is littered with tracks and creeks. Perfect for testing your 4WD skills. Chris,s  GW  "Toto" handled the very wet and muddy conditions  with ease and put on a great show in front of half a dozen local 4WD,s that had showed up. The early evening was spent talking " Jeeps " and looking over photographs of past FSJ Adventures , before I regretfully had to say goodbye and head north for the 5 hour trip back to Christchurch. All in all it was a great day , made even better by the superb hospitality shown by Chris and his wife Natalie. I am very much looking forward to my next trip to New Zealand and the Deep South.
