Garry West's - 81 Jeep Cherokee - 'The Boss' After installing a 360 HP motor from a Matador (Gas with 750 Holley), spending countless hours in re-preparation of The Boss (which was only painted damnably by a 'friend' some four months ago) we are just about to repaint the blasted thing. The interior is trashed even more than when we bought it such that we are installing elect Leather front seats from one of those 96 'matchbox jeeps' (or 3/4 size wannabe's) with the back being matched in leather on the original frame. (possibly with three matching, and detachable, headrests from telstar rear seats). Dash will be grey and carpets will be grey with either red/maroon inserts or mats. Have problem with getting a decent Crash pad though (which will be recovered in Grey Vinyl) any out there?? Am also making a rear compartment lid that extends from the top of the rear seat to the back tailgate and am enclosing from the wheelarches back to the rear tailgate to give extra on-board storage, including fresh water on the drivers side in front of the RH rear light assembly. Have had terrible problems with losing ALL oil pressure after several quick rev situations (dragging Jap stuff) and have had to resort to buying a Moroso accumulator which will be installed in months to come. On the body, the LH door lock has been removed and if I had my way and the time, I would replace all existing door handles but job just a little too large. Now with Central locking and Alarm fitted I feel a little more secure but only when the electric window harness and winders are fitted from my old 84 TX5 will I be happy but I will not be overly happy about doing that. All door panels are going to have to be totally rebuilt as well. Last thing. Had the opportunity to take the front guard panels off and get in there and fix that damnable problem created when the pathetic 3in x 3/4in drain hole gets blocked by a 31/2in x 1in leaf. There's now a cavity the size of the Grand Canyon there. well the photos you are about to see is what the jeep will look like having done all the hard work on 602p Photoprint (free download) to change the color and design 10, 000 million times. hope you like them (as rough as they are) but the final product will be the same as one of the prints. Regards to all FSJers
