Ross Brealey - 82 Jeep Cherokee

"SLOBSmobile " is an 1982 Chero sports still running the AMC360 and 737 auto. Dana front end (stock) AMC rear with a LockRight locker.  Almost completed cargo barrier, "Chetbilt" rear tyre carrier, twin fuel tanks  and LPG, false floor in the cargo compartment, springs jacked by 1.5", running  Ranco Racer 10.5X31" tyres, front nudge bar with fog and driving  lights.  Rusty front passenger side floor as well.....

Recently SLOBSmobile was renamed "Juggernaut" on the weekend of 10 October 1998.
Below the renaming ceremony is presefed for all time and for all to re-live in the glorious ,moment that it was, (Ed: I mean I would have enjoyed the Port) <grin>

Today, Queen Chris of the One Acre Garden formally presided over the re-naming ceremony of the SLOBSmobile.  As it was pissing down rain the ceremony was carried out with the participants wearing oilskins over all official robes.

Queen Chris gave a speech, and I quote:
"The Cherokee is of noble and high birth and should not bear an undignified name such as it has - even though it deserves it!.  We are not amused by this so therefore We have given this matter much thought over the last ten minutes. In Our role We will proceed to rename this vehicle."

With that Queen Chris produced a bottle of aged Port, waved it in the general direction of the front of the Chero., opened it and drank a (fair) bit.

Queen Chris proceeded on by saying; "I am of the opinion that this Cherokee should be named after the Sanskrit meaning "Jagannatha" meaning "Lord of the World" and the bastardised British version of "Juggernaut" meaning an invincible crushing force."  In all respects this Cherokee lives up to the criteria of a Juggernaught, crushing tracks, mountains, bogholes, bank accounts and lording it over every other type of four wheel drive."

After a few staggering steps in the rain Queen Chris then demolished the (then) empty bottle against the nudge bar and proclaimed.  " I, Queen Chrishhh hereby re-name thish SLOBSmobile the F.S. Juggernaut.  May God bleshh all who sail in her!  Now, let's get in out of thish b****y rain."

So dear friends, our Cherokee now has a new name.  I hope you approve - Ross.
