that relates to diff-locks or "lockers"

E-drive locks the front and rear axle together, a locker in the differential
locks both axle shafts on the same axle together.
Without e-drive your 4 wheel drive Jeep will in worst case be a 1 wheel
drive. This is because the clutches inside the transfer case will allow the
axle with least traction to spin. When you lock into e-drive at least there
will be 2 wheel drive (one on the front axle and one on the rear).
But if you stand on solid ground with one side of the Jeep and the other in
a bottomless ditch you will go nowhere because all available power will go
to the wheels with least traction.
Put a locker in the rear axle and you'll have 3 wheel drive, put lockers in
both axles and you'll have 4 wheel drive.
