Putting a Radiator Filter on your FSJ - Rod Linnett After discovering that one of the main reasons why the Cherokee was getting hot was because of the fact that there was alot of rusty looking scale in cores, I decide to put a filter on the top hose - something I should have before I started the engine after being rebuilt, but now I know better. Anyway the thing costs about $20 and you just cut 2" out of the top hose to put it in. It's pretty simple really, there is a 'V' shaped guaze screen to catch all the crap and has a base that lifts out so that when you clean it out, all the crap doesn't go into the radiator. The whole thing takes about 1/2 hour to install and a couple of hose clamps. |
