Locked up for CHEAP

                                                        Installing a Mini-Spool for a Dana 44

Step 1.    Jack up the vehicle, block the axle with jack stands only!!!!!

Step 2.    Drain Diff, Remove axle shafts, and loosen the bearing cap bolts.

Step 3.    Remove Carrier from pumpkin, remember how everything lined up!!

Step 4.    You may have to remove the ring gear from the carrier depending

                on the gear ratio. The spider gear pin may be blocked by the ring gear.

Step 5.    Using a punch tap the pin out.                                                                            

Step 6.    Rotate the gears so that the side gears come out.

Step 7.    Pull all the gears out.

Step 8.     Insert the first part of the mini-spool.

Step 9.    Insert the 2nd part.

Step 10.    Insert the two center blocks.

Step 11.    Rotate mini-spool and insert the pin.

Step 12.     Reinstall Carrier, axle shafts and diff cover and your Done.
